Bro. Dhanaraju Bonthu was born to Mr. Veeraswamy and Mrs. Meeramma in a foreign country known as Burma (Present Myanmar) on January 10th, 1928. He is the eldest son and has one brother and one sister. He was in Burma in his childhood and completed his primary education there. When he was enjoying all his life in his noble family endowed with all privileges, the Second World War was started. Japanese troops invaded Burma. This led to fleeing of the citizens to other countries as refugees. His parents brought him to India in 1942. He lived with his parents in Amalapuram area in Andhra Pradesh where his forefathers lived. Suddenly, life became tough and it was a very critical situation to find the food. So, he worked with his father in a cinema theatre fixing wall Posters on daily wages for an half a rupee per day. |

| After one year, he was inspired to join the Indian Army to serve and to safeguard the country. He discharged his duties as a soldier in Lahore (Present Pakistan), Dhaka (Present Bangladesh), Meghalaya, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir and in Delhi. After the Independence, he was appointed as a Wireless officer in the police department in Madras. He got married to Mary Viduryam on February 15th, 1954. He was gifted with two sons and one daughter. For some time, he was crazy for Bible and he was called as a 'Bible crazy'. Due to this reason, all staff in the office tried to fire him from the Job. By God’s grace, his sincerity and his dedication to the work, their efforts failed. Subsequently, he faced several problems in the family and in the society. |

At the age of two years, accidentally he fell into a small canal. When his parents searched for him, he got rescued from the canal. God saved him when he passed through the waters(Isaiah 43:2). Once, while he was returning to India in the year 1942 in 2nd World War, a Japanese war-tank tried to sink the ship by assuming that it was the enemy's ship. All the people persuaded the Japanese authorities that they were the Indian passengers and got saved. Again, in his work as a soldier, one day, while he was flying with his co-soldiers in a Helicopter in the time of the Chinese War, the Chinese soldiers shot down the helicopter. He fall and saved by clinging to the branch of a tree.
All the soldiers died except Bro. Dhanaraju Bonthu. Really, it was God’s Miracle he got saved though the helicopter crashed by colliding the surface of the land. Bro. Dhanaraju Bonthu dedicated his life to Christ and decided to do His work since God saved him from this accident (death) in a critical situation. |
